Christmas Island Birding

We couldn't land on Fanning Island because officials couldn't get there to clear the ship. We rerouted to Kiritimati Island, also called Christmas Island by Captain Cook who arrived on Chistmas eve. We landed in London! Only 279 passengers were able to land before low tides and sandbags stopped the tenders. We landed at noon, had our 2-hour tour, but had to wait until after six for the tenders to come and pick us up.
