The advantage of an overnight is we don't have to worry about missing the ship. We rented a car and drove to The Pinacles Desert. They think they were formed by 2 layers of sand. White atop yellow. Limestone leached out of the upper layer and formed the pillars. Then the wind eroded the sand. It was a beautiful drive through the Outback.
