Fakarava, Tuamotu, French Polynesia

Fakarava is an atoll. As such, there I no elevation. I walked to the lighthouse. It was way too hot and humid so I was done by lunch.
This is not a warning lighthouse. Instead, the could build a fire on top to signal for help from nearby islands

February 23, 2024 At first they canceled the port causing us to eat the major part of our prepaid birding guide. Later, they changed plans and landed us there at lunch time. The town has many metal sculptures  If you look closely at the picture above, you can see this female splendid fairy wren The lichen on the rocks is this vivid orange color  There is a colony of little blue penguins on both sides of the tender pier. They must climb this slope each evening at dusk
